During my stay of almost half a year in Peru, I explored the bustling and chaotic city of Lima, got a glimpse into the calmer, historical capital of Cuzco, the wild and beautiful nature of the Amazon Rainforest and several other remarkable places.
The constant blearing of horns, the wandering salesmen on buses as the conductor calls out each stop, keep your phone down, never being a hundred feet from delicious food in rough-looking restaurants, eyes on you everywhere you go because everyone knows you're not from here, don't have any valuables on show, locals are eager to know everything you love about the country, eager to look after you, breath-taking sights, succulent and sweet fruit you didn't even know existed, the news showing a barrage of robberies, murders and violent crimes, buying drinks through your car window, roaming markets and finding the best chocolate you'll ever taste, a memory you won't quite believe in the years to come.
